Exciting Season Ahead at The Cedar Cultural Center

Continuing with our 35th Anniversary at The Cedar, we’re thrilled to reflect on the incredible moments shared with our community and look forward to an even more exciting close to the year.

Our Summer at The Cedar free plaza programming was a tremendous success, highlighted by the unveiling of a stunning new mural created by local artists Leslie Barlow and Hibaaq Ibrahim with deep roots in the West Bank neighborhood. This vibrant addition symbolizes our continued commitment to celebrating local talent and the cultural heritage of our community.

Throughout the summer, we hosted a number of outstanding shows. Standout performances included  TINARIWEN and Andrea Swensson’s book release of "DEEPER BLUES: The Life, Songs, and Salvation of Cornbread Harris” with audiences embracing the unique sounds and experiences that make The Cedar such a special venue. Our Volunteer Appreciation Evening was a joyful celebration of the people who power our work. We had a blast during our two-night Global Get Together at the Minnesota State Fair and curating a stage at Minnesota Orchestra’s International Day of Music.

As we move into the last quarter of the year, we are excited to bring even more to our stage and community. Next week, we kick off the Global Roots Festival, a multi-day event showcasing diverse global artists.
