Over the past four months, The Cedar has been actively exemplifying our mission of fostering intercultural appreciation through global music with a diverse array of captivating performances and artists gracing our stage. Notable highlights have included the dynamic artists Chilean Rapper ANA TIJOUX and Maria Isa, the enchanting presence of ROBYN HITCHCOCK with support from comedian Eugene Mirman, the soulful melodies of KIRAN AHLUWALIA featuring Aida Shahghasemi, and the triumphant return of COLIN HAY to the Pantages Theatre.

We’re excited to debut Summer at The Cedar: a free Tuesday night concert series outdoors on the Cedar Plaza featuring both international and local artists, plus food and drinks available for purchase from local vendors and The Cedar, and connection with various community organizations. Our series includes: Frank Buffalo Hyde, a Drone Not Drones event, Wesli, Flamingo Pier, Elephant Sessions, and Sidi Wacho.

For the month of June 2024, The Cedar Cultural Center is leading a collaborative effort to craft a monumental mural on the building's facade, as part of its 35th-anniversary celebration as the Midwest's hub for international and local live music. Two of the region's most beloved muralists, Leslie Barlow and Hibaaq Ibrahim, have been entrusted with the task of designing and bringing this mural to life.

On Saturday, June 8th, from 12-4 pm, our talented artists will don their teaching hats, welcoming neighbors and youth to join them onsite and contribute to the mural's creation.
