THE SOUND OF BRITTANY - WHERE VOICE MEETS ACCORDION

From the heart of Brittany comes a duo redefining traditional sound. Accordionist Tangi Le Gall-Carré, founding member of the iconic band Startijenn and a key figure of the Breton scene for decades, joins singer and actress Typhaine Corre, whose expressive voice and stage presence bring rare depth and emotion to every performance.

As interest in folk dance, bal folk, and Celtic-inspired music continues to grow across the U.S., their music resonates perfectly with today’s audiences: authentic, emotional, and deeply alive. Blending poetry, voice, and the rich textures of diatonic accordion, they create a sound that is both ancestral and contemporary where tradition meets new influences and unexpected colors.

On stage, their connection is immediate, moving effortlessly between intimacy and intensity, drawing audiences in from the very first note. Their debut album Gouloù mil steredenn (“The Light of a Thousand Stars”) is a journey through language, sound, and emotion carried by two artists deeply rooted in tradition yet open to the world. A rare and captivating experience! Produced by Paker Prod, brought to Minnesota thanks to Monark Productions.

danny & Jimmy

Fueled by their shared obsession with music and copious amounts of coffee, Danny & Jimmy are a high-energy folk duo based out of the Twin Cities, MN. Their blend of original and traditional tunes and songs honors the history of the music while at the same time striving to push it to new realms. Having honed their respective crafts side-by-side for over a decade, Danny & Jimmy’s playing has naturally and seamlessly melded into something that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Danny Schwarze is a singer/songwriter, composer/arranger, and multi-instrumentalist. While he mainly plays guitar, bass, and bodhran, if it can be plucked, strummed, bowed or struck he will eagerly strive to master it. From pubs to clubs, from parks to theaters, Danny draws on his background in rock, jazz, Celtic and American folk, and classical music to add his unique flair to the numerous groups and individuals he plays with, as well as to his own solo act.

Jimmy Sherman is a bagpiper, whistle player, composer, and arranger from the Twin Cities, Minnesota. He's studied the traditions and pushed the boundaries of bagpiping for nearly three decades, and holds certification in Highland Piping from the College of Piping in Glasgow, Scotland. He has been a piper with the Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band of Saint Paul, MN, for more than 25 years, and also performs frequently as a solo piper in a wide variety of settings. He's contributed his playing and compositions to numerous recordings, both through his own projects and as a guest musician. Whether through the Great Highland Bagpipes, Scottish smallpipes, or whistle, the esteem with which Jimmy holds this ancient craft is easily heard in his playing.

Danny and Jimmy also make up half of the rocking Twin Cities-based Celtic/Americana band The Northerly Gales.
