ABOUT THIS SHOW
Join us for Summer at The Cedar: a free Tuesday night concert series outdoors on The Cedar Plaza featuring both international and local artists! This evening features a rare summer version of the beloved annual Drone Not Drones festival, a benefit for Doctors Without Borders, which is part benefit concert, part art project, part community event. Full lineup of local artists to be revealed in the coming weeks. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from local vendors and The Cedar, and various community organizations will be tabling.
Please RSVP for the event, so we can communicate updates about the event with you - come join us for a series of lovely nights under the lights!
DRONE NOT DRONES
For this summer offering, local musicians will rotate on and off the stage to create a single uninterrupted 2-hour drone to protest the extrajudicial and immoral drone program and raise money for the victims of the United States military-industrial complex. The experts at Wikipedia say "Drone music is a minimalist musical style that emphasizes the use of sustained or repeated sounds... It is typically characterized by lengthy audio programs with relatively slight harmonic variations throughout each piece compared to other music."
Be part of a unique experience while supporting a just cause. We may feel powerless to stop the military industrial complex from spreading war. But we can spread peace if we drone on and on about it...
