ABOUT THIS SHOW

Steel drums in Minnesota? You betcha! Nothing says summer fun like a steel-pan concert, and you can be part of the smooth Caribbean vibes as more than 60 performers come together! Two of Minnesota’s premier steel bands join pan virtuoso Liam Teague on stage in this summer celebration of steel drum music. You’ll be dancing in your seat to familiar tunes from the Beatles and Bob Marley, plus original compositions. Bonus – guest harpist Faye Seeman joins in the fun for a delightful steel-drum and harp pairing!

THE PANHANDLERS STEEL DRUM BAND

The Panhandlers Steel Drum Band was founded in 2014 by Chops, Inc. and has grown into a staple of the Twin Cities music scene, regularly performing in “Arts in the Park” concerts as well as at festivals, parties, and other events throughout the year. Minnesota’s premier steel-drum band, Pan-handlers, will join student ensembles and world-renowned pannist Liam Teague on stage the evening of August 10th, bringing their singable, danceable repertoire of classics from Bob Marley and the Beatles to steel-pan favorites to The Cedar’s stage for the first time.
