Dos Santos
Chicago–based quintet—Dos santos—has long invited audiences to listen at the edges of Latin music, making the unfamiliar familiar. Formed in 2013, their music brings stories to life with echoes of ancestral rhythms from deep across the Americas, with glimpses of barrio cumbias, psychedelic westerns, and moonlit desert serenades. Their upcoming fourth full–length album continues in this tradition. Produced by grammy© award–winner, Beto Martinez, the album showcases a seasoned ensemble whose musical vision is as strong as ever in a moment replete with simulacra. Honest and direct, their sound continues to be a candid and heartfelt offering that bears witness to what is at stake in these times.
DJ Miguel Vargas
From St. Paul, MN, Miguel Vargas has been a DJ on the scene for over 20 years, and working in radio for over 15 years currently serving as Program Director for KFAI Fresh Air Community Radio 90.3 FM. Blending hip-hop, funk and soul, disco and house, with afro-latin genres of cumbia, salsa, and samba - you can catch him spinning vinyl with DJ Brian Engel and Worldwide Discotheque, and other dance nights with his KFAI Radio Pocho co-host, DJ Terrell LaMarr.
KG4 - Kevin Gamble Quartet
For as long as he can remember music has been a part of Kevin Gamble's life. One of his first experiences with music was playing the piano at his uncle's church as a kid. Gospel, along with listening to Jazz, Funk, country, Soul, and HipHop growing up definitely shaped his musical style as an artist. After years of sharpening his skills on piano and finishing his music education in 2018, he decided in 2019 to form his fusion group KG4. While playing alongside some of Minnesota's most talented musicians, Kevin infuses elements of gospel, RnB, Jazz and funk to create a unique and fun sound that that everyone will enjoy.
